I have just started using solar accounts and im new to this. On the bit where it asks "Financial Year Begins", is this the 1st or 6th of april, or the company formation date.

For a limited company the financial year is based on the period you use when submitting your corporate tax return. If you're not sure of this period check with your accountant or local tax office.
For self-employed people the financial year begins on 6 April.
