Is there a way to check for errors within solar, and is there an audit trail.

Solar Accounts will automatically check for various errors when you open your data file (eg. total credit balances do not equal total debit balances) and it will issue a 'programming error' if it finds an error. There isn't a way for the user to initiate such a check besides opening the data file.
We don't have an audit trail report but you can see a history of user changes by clicking menu Tools > User Activity. Double-clicking on a row in that list will show exactly what has been changed.
