Loss due to exchange rate fluctuations

How do I book bankc charges when I am paying an Invoice abroad. How do I book the differnence beetween bokked exchange rate and the payed exchange rate ?? In the Command Invoices paid its not possible ???!?!?

Hi Christer,

I assume you have received an invoice in a foreign currency and recorded it in Solar Accounts in the local currency. Then by the time you pay the invoice, the value of the foriegn currency has decreased so that the payment amount (in local currency) is more than the invoice amount.

In that case, do the following:
1. Record a purchase invoice for the smaller amount
2. Record an invoice payment for the larger amount - this will result in the invoice being overpaid.
3. Create a new Expense account called 'Exchange Rate Costs'
4. Right-click on the overpaid invoice and select 'Receive Refund'. Set the 'Paid From Account' field to 'Exchange Rate Costs' and click OK.
