Can't use shared drive

Hello,

I have moved a business file to a shared drive, so that it can be used from several computers. The application is now unable to open the file, complaining about not being able to lock the file for editing (on Windows), or not being able to write to disk (on Mac).

Is that something that can be worked around?

Hello Max,

Mac OS X does not allow files on a shared network drive to be locked for editing. This means you cannot directly open a Solar Accounts file on a network folder shared by a Mac.

The workaround is to copy the file to your computer, edit it, then copy it back to the network drive.

Try saving the accounts file on dropbox. I do that and can now a access from my laptop on the move.

If you use Dropbox with Solar Accounts, be careful not to simultaneously access the file from two separate locations as it can cause conflicts. See this page for details:
