I keep the books for a couple of organisations one of which is in the RoI & therefore the transactions are in Euro.
I changed the default currency symbol from £ to € for this company but found that this Euro sign is then translated to the other £ files. Is there any way round this this to prevent this happening.?

Yes - in the latest version of Solar Accounts the currency setting is per business file, not system-wide. You can upgrade here:
