I am a self employed, sole trader.
Can you tell me how I best deal with the VAT scale charge within Solar? I have to record all my petrol expenditure for income tax records, however I am not wanting to record the actual VAT content for VAT return purposes as I use tha scale charge system.

Note that you should record your petrol purchases in the usual way (so you can reclaim the VAT you have paid). The difference with the scale charge is you need to add an extra transaction to record private use of the petrol.
