Adding PO Number To Email Template

Hi there.

I've tried to add the customers PO number to subject and body of the email template, so that the customers reference is included. But so far I've only been able to get it showing the text of the variable instruction I've used.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? (I've tired [PO NUMBER] & [PO_NUMBER])

Subject: [BUSINESS_NAME] - (Ref: [PO NUMBER]) [DOCUMENT_TYPE] [DOCUMENT_ID]

Use [CUSTOMER_PO_NUMBER]
