Windows 10

Hi, I just switched to Windows 10 on the only machine I have had Solar Accounts installed on. It does not work properly as I must be using on old version. Now I checked on Solar website and there is no longer a download of WIndows 10 version/update available. I need to do the accounts by 7th March and this caught me as a surprise. Can I get a chance to download update to my existing Solar accounts now?

Can I have an answer asap, please? Can I download Windows 10 compatible version anywhere or could you send a file, please?

Hello Paul,

The latest offline version of Solar Accounts is available here:
https://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/download.php?online=false

This version will run on Windows 10, however it is not designed to run on high-DPI devices such as the Surface Pro - for such devices text fields will sometimes be too small for the text they display. One options is to change the Windows text size to 100% as described here:
https://askleo.com/adjust-size-whats-screen-windows-10/

Another option is to switch to the online version which has support for hight-DPI devices. See this page for more benefits of switching to the online version:

Hi Mark,

Probably the new version for WIndows 10 is not working anyway. When setting up an invoice and then payment for it, the following message pops up:

'Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition bonary has stopped working'.

Then pop up window forsec to close Solar Accounts.

I am ruuning it on a Vaio laptop.

So that leaves no choice but to subscribe to online version then?

Hi Paul,

There is a workaround for that problem on the offline version - see this page:

Hi Mark,

I will give it a try thanks. However, you never know what problems mu come up later on, so probably it would be best to switch to online version going forward.

Kind regards,

Paul
