Deleting customer details - GDPR

Has anybody tested Solar's guidance to deleting a single customer's details, using the recommended route, which is .... File > Close > GDPR Compliance > Delete Time Machine Data

I haven't dared to as yet. But what happens to that customer's account data - clearly, all the "money" transactions can't be removed, else the whole set of accounts would be thrown out of synchrony, and would become incorrect. Is a 'dummy name' substituted or something??.

Hello Peter,

Solar Accounts doesn't let you delete a customer which has transactions, but you can edit the customer fields to removed the private information. However, the previous values are still available in the user activity list and time machine feature. To completely delete the old data you need to (a) click menu Tools > User Activity > Delete All; and (b) Click menu File > Close > Options > GDPR Compliance > Delete Time Machine Data.

Regards,
