E-mailing invoices

My version of Solar Accounts will not pick up my e-mail (Outlook) so that I can send invoices, any suggestions?

When you open the compose e-mail box, have you clicked on the options setting in the bottom left hand corner?
You should get the option to "send using my default e-mail program" which should then open up outlook.

It should also be noted that using Solar to send documents by e-mail means that they are not encrypted and not GDPR compliant, hence it would be advisable to use your default e-mail program and encryption.

Hi Russell,

I think Walter is using the offline version of Solar Accounts, so he cannot use the in-built email service that Solar Accounts Online provides. Also, we store and process emails in a way which complies with GDPR using a third-party email service called SendGrid - see this page for details:

Hi Walter,

A few questions:
1. What is the exact error message you see when trying to send an email via Solar Accounts? This will give us a better understanding of the problem.
2. Is this a new computer or were you previously sending emails successfully from this computer?
3. Are you able to send a normal email using Outlook without using Solar Accounts?

Please check that Outlook is set up as your default email program on Windows as described here:
