HMRC VAT Return Issue

Hiya mark ,
I asked you a week ago about processing a VAT return for period end July ... You said it was not showing on solar because HMRC had an issue with July returns. I have written to them , but not had any answer . I have tried to connect to HMRC through solar this morning to see if they have resolved the July's Vat return issue and i cannot connect now . It tells me i have to enter the grant authorisation code ! I did this ages ago. When i log onto HMRC this morning it says i am registered for digital tax and i have no return due and gives me no authorisation code !!! Any ideas ??

Hi Caroline,

The request to enter a new authorisation code is initiated by HMRC - in some cases it seems this can occur simply because HMRC have updated their systems. To see your HMRC VAT returns in Solar Accounts, do the following:

  1. Log into Solar Accounts

  2. Go to the VAT Returns section and click 'Connect'

  3. Click the link it 'Step 2' and follow the steps to create a new HMRC authorisation code

  4. Copy and paste the authorisation code into Solar Accounts
