I've happily had a grant payment from HMRC under the Self-employed income support scheme. Wondering how to record this and whether or not it is out of scope for VAT. I'm on the VAT flat rate scheme.

We expect the grant you received from HMRC will be treated as personal
income and therefore be outside the scope of VAT. However, it seems that
HMRC have not issued any official guidance on this matter, so you will need
to check this VAT treatment with them or your accountant.
