Compatibility Issues with Solar Accounts on M1 Macbook

Hi,
I purchased Solar accounts a few years ago and use it to do my business accounts. I am a self employed freelancer and I run a small PA hire company and I also freelance as a sound engineer.
I have just bought a new M1 Macbook and the software doesn't run on it. Please let me know how I can continue using the software.
Many thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

To help me answer your question about running Solar Accounts on your new M1
Macbook, please tell me: On your old computer were you running the online
version? That is, did you log in with a User ID and password whenever you
started the program?

Hi,

No, I don’t want an online version otherwise I would have bought something else like Quickbooks. I’m also not going to pay a monthly fee for something I can do on a spreadsheet. In fact the last part of what I do to work out the actual tax I need to pay, including the percentage of business use for each category is worked out on a spreadsheet anyway.

So is pay monthly the only solution?

Hello Mark,

Sorry no, the old offline version of Solar Accounts is 32-bit software -
such software cannot run on the latest MacOS versions. If you wanted to
use Solar Accounts on your new M1 Macbook you will need to switch to the
online version as described here <https://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/upgrade>
and pay a monthly fee.
