64-bit Compatibility and Online Version Inquiry

Please let me know your policy on 64 bit compatibility following a 'pop up' screen on my mac computer. I understand it is still OK to go on using the 32 bit version but does this now have a 'shelf life' please.

Thank you.

Hi James,

We do not plan to provide support for the desktop version of Solar Accounts
to run on MacOS versions after 10.14 (Mojave). This means if you want to
run Solar Accounts on the latest version of MacOS in future you will need
to upgrade to the online version - see this page for details:

Hello Mark,

Thank you for your reply.

Whilst I have found your product useful I have no need to share the programme online with the possible security issues this may pose. At the moment I am happy to use the 32 bit version as long as it continues to function.

Regards

Jim

Hi James,

Actually Solar Accounts Online has an "offline" mode which allows you to
keep your data only on your computer - it is never sent to the cloud. In
fact, with this mode your financial data is more secure than the old
desktop version because it is not in the cloud and is encrypted with your
password when stored on your computer. To enable this mode, select
"Advanced security options" when you set up your online account.

Hello Mark,

Thanks. However I am no longer getting the update message when I load the programme. Do I need to set up an online account separately and if so could you send me a link please.

Regards

Jim

Hello Mark,

Having just been online I notice you are charging a minimum of £11 a month for the online version and for me this really is not cost effective as my business is very small.

Regards

Jim

Hi James,

OK no problem - you will probably find that you can continue with your
current software for now.
