We are a current Solar 3.9.8 user and are VAT registered.
Please can you answer these questions for us:-
If we move over to Solar Online Accounting....
1. Can we work on our data off of the web ... ie can we download our data, work throughout the day, then upload back to the cloud. (We ask this as we have very little internet connection due to remote location and it will take a long time for a basic task)
2. Is our data secure
3. Can you confirm you do not onward sell any content of our data.
4. With regard to MTD and VAT, what data is being sent is it just the same from sheet ie 'VAT summary' or the VAT Return detail ? if the latter can we restict it as we use the Memo section to record sales & purchase data for analysis of sales and averages of prices & crop treatments for our reporting.

Thanks for your interest in Solar Accounts Online! To answer your
questions:
Yes, Solar Accounts Online has an 'offline mode' which allows to to
transfer your data to your computer and continue working without needing an
internet connection. To switch to online mode click menu File > Data
Location > On This Computer. Later when you can restore your data to the
cloud by clicking menu File > Data Location > In The Cloud.
Yes, we use industry-standard encryption when our software communicates
with our server. In addition, your financial data stored on your computer
and on our server is encrypted with your password, which adds an extra
layer of protection not normally available in other accounting systems.
That's correct - we do not sell your data or allow anyone else access
(except as required by law)
Only the VAT Summary is sent to HMRC (ie. Box 1 to 9 figures) not the
underlying transactions.
