Invoice Template Issue

I am attempting to change my invoice template and whilst being able to complete the changes I am requiring on opening a new invoice it opens the original layout, not the changed template I was wanting. Please advise on how I can achieve changing to the template I am wanting.

Hi Stuart,

The invoice template is only applied when you print or email the invoice -
the invoice window shown on screen is always the same. To see how a
particular invoice will look when printed or emailed, select a row in the
invoices list and click menu File > Print Preview.
