VAT Section Authorization Issue

hi, i have just tried to sign in to my vat section of the software, but it say's i am not authorized to access this organisation with that vat number. i have been using this software to send my vat return in for over a year, why wont it let me know?

Hi Colin

The reason why you are suddenly seeing this problem now when it was working
before is that HMRC automatically revokes Solar Account's authority to
submit VAT returns after 18 months, so every 18 months you need to enter
another authorisation code to allow you to submit VAT returns for the next
18 months. It's a real pain for our users, but unfortunately HMRC seem to
think it's needed for security reasons.

If you are seeing the error message "You are not authorised to connect with
organisation..." the most likely cause is that you have logged into the
HMRC website using the wrong Government Gateway User ID. Have you been
issued with more than one Government Gateway User ID? If so, log into Solar
Accounts and open the main window and press Ctrl + F6 on Windows or Command
+ Option + R on Mac. (If you are on Windows and your keyboard has a Fn key,
try Fn + Ctrl + F6)

You should then see a message asking if you want to clear your old HMRC
authorisation code - click 'yes' and then try to connect to HMRC again.
(Note that you can skip step 1 which calls for you to register for MTD).
When you log into HMRC please check that you are using the correct
Government Gateway User ID.
