Solar Accounts Compatibility with Latest MacOS

Hi,

I have been using Solar account for many years on my MacBook. However, since the latest OS update Solar accounts doesn't open, causing my invoicing to grind to a halt.

Please can you tell me how this issue can be resolved, and how I can access my accounts.

Kind regards,

Rick Rothschild

Hello Rick,

I'm afraid that the latest version of MacOC cannot run 32-bit software, and
we don't have any plans to provide an update to the offline version of
Solar Accounts. Your best approach is to make a backup of all your data
then perform a 'factory reset' on your computer to revert to a previous
version of MacOS (please contact Apple for details of how to do this), then
re-install the offline version of Solar Accounts from our website
<https://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/download?online=false>.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the quick response. I was worried this might be the case, I’ve already spent hundreds of pounds updating other software that was no longer compatible.
I noticed on your website just after my initial message that you have an online version on Solar Accounts. If I upgrade to the online version would I be able to access all of my data from the desktop version without doing a factory reset of the Mac?

Many thanks,
Rick Rothschild

Hi Rick,

Yes, if you want to switch to the online version then you can import your
existing data file as described on the 5 steps on this page:
https://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/upgrade

However, if you take this approach you would need to sign up for the online
subscription service.
