The program does not appear to have a profit and loss report to help me fill in my tax return.

The problem is that the Profit and Loss report is hidden at the bottom of the reports list. To view this report, click menu Window > Reports. You then need to scroll to the bottom of reports list and select 'Profit and Loss - Simple'.
In future we will show all reports in the initial report list without the need to scroll.
