I'm looking at Solar for our small Community Interest Company. Our main income comes from grants (Arts Council, Lottery Fund etc) and I want to be able to allocate expenditure to each grant so that I can produce a report of activity for each grant and know immediately how much money is left in each grant. Is this possible without creating a 'company' for each grant and then entering everything twice? Many thanks.

Sorry no, this is not possible with Solar Accounts. A number of users have requested a 'Jobs' feature which would be suitable in this case. I'll record your email address to be notified in case we add this in future.

We've just released a new version of Solar Accounts which allows you to associate each transaction with a particular job or department (by clicking the Options button in the bottom-left of the transaction window). There's also a new 'Profit and Loss By Job/Department' report which shows the income and expenses for each job or department.
