Euro invoice in Solar Accounts

I have a European customer, I'd like to send them an invoice in €, can I change the currency denominator on the invoice template?

Hi Steve,

No - the currency setting in Solar Accounts is system-wide. Your best approach is as follows:
1. Click menu Setup > Currency and set the currency symbol to €
2. Restart Solar Accounts
3. Create a second Solar Accounts data file used to contain your euro invoices.

4. Create and print your euro invoice
5. Click menu Setup > Currency and set the currency symbol to £
6. Restart Solar Accounts
7. Open your main data file and enter the invoice denominated in pounds using an appropriate exchange rate.

Are there any plans to make this an easier process in future releases?

Hi Gareth,

Yes, a number of users have requested better support for multi-currency and this feature is on our 'to do' list. However, we cannot make promises about when this feature might be introduced in future.

If you are lucky enough to own Adobe Acrobat Professional (not Reader) then save the sterling invoice as a pdf (preferably by using Adobe's own pdf printer) then open it in Acrobat and use the Advanced editing > print touch up tool to modify the amount and currency symbol.
Then save under a different name, such as the original Solar name plus the currency name. It's a bit tedious, particularly as you have to do your own text justification, but it does mean that you don't need a second set of foreign currency accounts files. But it has the advantage if you issue a few invoices in several different currencies.
As far as Solar is concerned, you've issued a sterling invoice, but you can send your customer the other one in their own currency.
Don't forget that the invoice is probably zero rated for VAT, depending on your "point of supply". Still checking on how VAT FRS should be handled!

Ouch!! Just downloaded today to test out the software but 95% of my invoices are in Euro.
I guess I might have to wait for updates. Any recommendations?
