Going to try Solar Accounts starting this new tax year, but not sure of our cash in hand balance yet because not finished doing the manual book keeping. Is it possible to put any estimated figure in for the starting cash in hand balance, and then change it later when I know the actual figure?
Also, does Solar allow invoice amounts to be edited/changed at any time (maybe many months down the line) instead of having to mess about issuing credit notes like other accounts software. If it does, what happens with VAT return figures if amounts have been detailed in previous VAT returns?

Yes, you can edit the opening balance of the account at any time.
And yes, you can edit the details of an invoice at any time too. If you make changes which affect your previous VAT return you will need to keep track of the change and manually adjust the figures on your next VAT return.
