Bank Reconciliation

Mark,

When you reconcile a bank account the payments and receipts are moved to match the date order those transactions are shown on the bank statement.

However, if you go to the actual transaction and make a correction to the date, it seems to move the reconciliation transaction to match that date, so surely the reconciliation list is no longer in the correct order and no longer matches bank statements?

Would it be possible to lock reconciled transactions so any change in the transaction date doesn't affect the order of previously reconciled transactions?

Thanks Dave

and I think which is important to help an accountant check reconciliation at year end.

Hi Dave,

Yes, if you change the date (or amount) of the transaction it may no longer match the bank statement. However, this is not always true - some people tick the transaction then change the date in Solar Accounts to match the date on the bank statement.

A few other users have requested that the transactions be 'locked' after the reconciliation is complete. I'll record your email to be notified in case we add this feature in future.

Regards,

If not perhaps a little warning pop up window to advise of the consequences might be an alternative. Regards Dave
