Is there an easy way, like through the import of a csv file of historical information?
The reason I ask this is that we have been using our other package for some time, so can see trends in income and expenditure which assists in budgeting.
I would like to be able to have this information display in the Reports/Profit and Loss - Multiple Periods report.
I could enter each year's p/l then use Setup/Financial Year to move it on one, but this seems long-winded.

Solar Accounts allows you to import transactions from a CSV file as described here:

However, you may find it too time-consuming to produce a CSV file in the format required by Solar Accounts. I think the simplest solution is as you described: create a General Transaction each year to adjust the income and expense balances.
