Linux Support Coming?

I have been using solar accounts for a while and it's great on mac.

Is there any plans to support linux? As it seems to be written in from Java looking at the package contents, it won't be very hard to port.

Its just that next time I upgrade or my mac wears out, I am not buying another mac and then moving to linux. Pretty much everything I do can be done on linux now.

Hi John,

No, we don't have any plans just now to produce a Linux version of Solar Accounts. Solar Accounts is mostly written in Java, but there would still be costs associated with porting to Linux and supporting the platform and we want to focus on other areas. Sorry.

Regards,

I've tried all ways to get it working on various flavours of Linux but failed miserably. I've swapped to the online Quickfile now because I need something that will run on Linux.

I still recommend Solar to my Windows only customers, but can't use it myself :(
