Staff subsitance

I'm currently trailing Solar & almost ready to purchase but there is one final task I want to see how it copes with -recording of staff subsistence payments i.e an away from base payment in line with HMRC guidelines. Just to add an extra bit of complication the member of staff is myself and I don't take the money out of the company but lodge into the Directors Loan Account.

Is it a simple as setting up a Expenses -> Subsistence ledger and journaling between the Substances and Directors loan accounts ?

Hi Geoff,

Yes, create a new expense account called 'Staff substistence' then record a Money Paid Out transaction from the Directors Loan Account to the Staff Subsistence account.
