Import data from Quick Books

Hi
We are currently using quick books ~ online version.

Can we import/export our existing data into Solar Accounts or do we need to manually enter.

If possible to do this do we need the online version of Solar or can we use the Offline version.

Hi Angela,

Solar Accounts cannot directly import Quickbooks data. However, I think it is likely that you can import the Customer and Supplier details using the CSV import feature. You need to create a CSV file with at least two columns - the first column is Type (and has values either 'Customer' or 'Supplier') and the second column is Name (and is the customer/supplier's name). See the 'Customer and Supplier Format' section on this page for details: http://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/help/how-to-import-data-from-csv-file.php

Both the online and offline versions of Solar Accounts have this CSV import feature.

For transactions it can be pretty difficult to create a CSV file in the correct format - the simplest approach is to pick a conversion date and older transactions into Quickbooks and newer transactions into Solar Accounts.

Regards,
