Backup from USB says file does not appear to be a valid Solar Accounts file

I'm helping a friend with his accounts and he has given me his Solar accounts disk which I have uploaded to my computer. We then took a backup of his accounts on a USB memory pen. I tried to open the USB file with the backup on it and it says that the file does not appear to be a valid Solar Accounts file - why is this?

Hi Margaret,

The version of Solar Accounts you are running has not been designed for Windows 10. I recommend that both you and your friend upgrade to the latest version of Solar Accounts as described here:
https://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/download.php?online=false&flag=UPGRADE

Also, it may be that the business data file has somehow been corrupted as it was copied from your friend's computer to your computer. Please copy the file again (overwriting the existing file) and double-click on the file again.

Any luck?

Regards
