Dividends payment not showing up in Dividends section

Hi, have always recorded dividend payed to myself in the usual way, as a general transaction going into retained earnings,
New accountant has pointed out that they are not recorded in dividends as an expense, and surely they should be?

Hi James,

Our understanding is that dividends should not be treated as an expense - they are are withdrawal of funds from the business by the owners.
