I am looking into a replacement system for MYOB but don't need anything too complicated. At first glance, Solar looks nice and easy to use with all the functions I need but I cannot see what all the reporting functions are. Does it have all the year end functions/reports and if so, can these been downloaded to Excel or another format to send to my accountant?
Hello Karen,
Solar Accounts includes several reports you can create for your accountant: Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Nominal Ledger. All reports can be saved in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format. You can also save the Transactions list to Excel. I suggest you download the trial version to see all the reports.
Solar Accounts also has a 'New Financial Year' feature which transfers the balance of the Income and Expense accounts to the Retained Earnings account. For other year-end procedures (such as recording accruals and depreciation) you will have to manually calculate the amounts and create a new transaction.
Regards,
