Have followed the instructions and it takes me to a word document which
dose not open, I need an authorization code ASAP

In order for me to determine the cause of the problem, please send me a
screenshot showing the button you clicked just before you were taken to the
word document that did not open.

Hi Mark, have sorted it out thanks, followed the link solar sent me in 2021
when we had the same problem, does this problem occur every couple of years?

Hi Deborah,

Yes unfortunately HMRC only allows us to access your account for 18 months
after you enter the authentication code. Therefore you will need to enter
a new authentication code every 18 months - sorry!
