How do i record paying someone from the petty cash?

When you pay for an expense from petty cash, record a normal expense
transaction as described here

the Paid From Account to 'Petty Cash'. When you top up the Petty Cash
account, create a General Transaction from the Cheque Account to the Petty
Cash account.
