Issue with VAT Return Submission

I've been using Solar Accounts online for the past 9 months and during that time I have submitted a VAT Return via MTD every month. When I came to submit my client's VAT Return for January I received a message saying I was not authorised to access that particular business. The client has been set up for MTD for the last 9 months and I have submitted every VAT Return for them in that time without any problem. Why am I being denied access now?

Hi Roger,

That is odd - can you please log in and open the business and generate a
sharing code as described here

then email it to me? That will help me investigate further.

Thanks for responding so quickly. I logged in to my account again this evening to do as you suggested, but then decided to try to access the VAT module again and this time it let me in no problem! I have no idea what the problem was, I tried several times yesterday and repeatedly received the same message saying that 'I didn't have authorised access to the business with VAT number *******'. As I mentioned before, I had submitted VAT Returns via Solar Accounts Online for this client ever since MTD started last April so I was completely confused. Maybe just a glitch?

Hi Roger,

Yes a few users have reported a similar problem - it seems to be a
temporary glitch with HMRC's system. Glad to hear it's working for you now.
