Hi Ray,

To answer your questions:

  1. How do you create a sub account within an account i.e
Under Motor Expenses how do you create sub accoubts for
    Servicing Parking?
To create sub accounts grouped under Motor Expenses, follow these steps:
    1. Go to the Accounts list and change the 'Motor Expenses' account name to 'General Motor Expenses'
    2. Click menu File > New > Account Group. Ensure the account type is 'Expense' and set the name to 'Motor Expenses'.
    3. Double-click on 'General Motor Expenses' and set the Group Under field to 'Motor Expenses'.
    4. Click menu File > New > Account. Set the account name to 'Service Parking' and the Group Under field to 'Motor Expenses'.

2. How do you bring in the value of stock held in the assets section of the accounts?
Click menu File > New > Account. Ensure the account type is 'Asset', then set the name to 'Inventory' and the opening balance to the value of your stock. To track changes to the value of your stock see this help topic:
