Does Solar Accounts cover payroll software for self employed i.e to calculate tax & nic. And to keep payment records for end of year payroll returns.

Sorry no, Solar Accounts does not have payroll features to calculate PAYE and NIC. You will need to calculate these figures outside the software, then enter payroll transactions as described here:
