EU Vat Refunds

Have applied for a Irish Vat Refund, using the published rates from the HMR site I applied for €92.56 (£82.56), I have receive the refund but only £75.30

As the accounting is Out of Scope should I just adjust the vat refund amount in my purchase invoice and increase the cost of good accordingly so that the fig tally.

Dont want to spend time try just to reclaim £7.00

Hi Tom,

In case you or other readers have not see it, here is the help topic on reclaiming EU VAT:
http://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/help/how-to-reclaim-eu-vat.php

In your case: Yes, you can simply adjust the reclaim amount and expense amounts on your original purchase invoice.

Thanks Mark

The problem i had in this case is that it is a trade show organised by a UK company using there Irish Vat registration number. As I am not actually purchasing any goods to be delivered to the UK I have to pay the Irish Vat and reclaim it through the HMR Web site under the EU 8th Directive.

Details can be found here http://www.the-mia.com/Changes-to-the-8th-Directive-EU-VAT-refund-claims

Hi Tom,

I think help topic I mentioned fits your circumstances - it assumes you are reclaiming EU VAT (eg. Irish VAT) and the transaction is outside the scope of UK VAT.
