employees wages

I have just taken on 1 employee, in the profit and loss report it shows his wages with a minus in front of the total, this then results in an increase in my profits by the same amount, could you explain this for me.

Hi Barry,

That sounds wrong - generally the wages expense figure should be positive. Please check that you wages payment in Solar Accounts looks like the one on this page:
http://www.solaraccounts.co.uk/help/how-to-record-paye-and-ni-contributions.php
(Note that the Employee Costs account appears in the 'Allocate To Account' table)

Also note that if you make changes to a transaction you may need to click the 'Refresh' button above the Profit and Loss report to see the updated figures.

If that doesn't resolve the problem, please click 'Backup' from the File menu, then save the file and email it to me - that will give us a better understanding of the problem.
