Car VAT Fuel Claims

I have now been using the software for a year, and apart from the minor irritations and quirks enjoy using it.

However I have still kept my accountant and have noticed my VAT calculations have been different to the VAT calculations my accountant has calculated.

When I asked him about this, he said this is because I cannot reclaim all of the VAT on my vehicle fuel as there is a limit to the amount you can claim, and something to do with this being related to the CO2 emissions from the car I am using.

I just wondered if there is an easy way to fix this miscalculation problem in the software so both of our figures match up. I think this may be because I also use my car for Private Usage as well as business usage and this: http://customs.hmrc.gov.uk/channelsPortalWebApp/channelsPortalWebApp.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=pageVAT_ShowContent&id=HMCE_CL_000090&propertyType=document#P166_18228

Hi Steve,

Please see this page for details of how to split the mileage payment so that VAT is only recorded on the fuel component:
